Some of you are probably already well aware of what Splice is but, for those of you who aren’t familiar, Splice is a platform which not only includes thousands of samples, presets and effects from sound engineers, but also features carefully designed packs/projects from your favourite producers. ![]() There are a lot of places online which offer up samples for free (you can check out our guide to the 7 Essential Sites to Download High-Quality Free Samples here and here), but there are some which cost a monthly fee, like Splice, where you may download sounds to your heart’s content. Using samples in your beats can not only provide you with new and interesting sounds, but also inspire creativity and push you out of your comfort zones. From here you can access all folders available in your external storage device.As music producers, we all love a good high-quality sample pack. To Access the folder in your MPC, navigate to the Browser > Places (top left-hand corner of the screen) and press the name of your drive that appears on the left-hand side of the screen. The folder you created in your external storage device can now be seen and accessed via the MPC in Standalone mode. Eject your external storage device from the computer before removing the drive to avoid data loss.Drag all desired samples to your newly created folder.Keep in mind there is already a folder named Splice, so you will want to name it something else to avoid confusion. Create a new folder on your external storage device.You can download the drivers from your Akai Pro Account after successful product registration Note* The driver must be installed for your MPC for it to be recognized by the computer.
